Champagnes

Champagne Region of France is 90 miles northeast of Paris and is
the coolest growing region in France. Champagne may be a blend of
Chardonnay or Pinot Noir grapes. The sweetness of Champagne ranges
from dry called brut to semi-sweet called extra-dry.
Sparkling
Wines
Sparkling
wines are not champagnes because they are not made in the region
of Champagne.
The wines are known as Sparkling Wines. The sweetness ranges from
Dry Brut to semi-sweet Asti Spumante.
Chardonnay
Wines
The
very finest of all white wine grapes are the grapes of White Burgundy.
(Chablis, Pouilly Fuisse and Puligny Montrachet). The grapes have
an unmistakable class and appealing balance of fruit, acidity and
texture. The Chardonnay grape is associated with tastes of apple,
fig, or melon while others describe the wines as creamy and buttery.
